Tales of the Olde Portsmouth Road

Actors wanted to portray the history of the London to Portsmouth Road

Maori group at Clandon Park, Guildford A3


Circle Eight Film Group is looking for actors to take part in their latest venture, a new local interest film entitled The Tales of the Olde Portsmouth Road. The film will feature the history, stories and folklore associated with the London to Portsmouth Road from its starting point by the River Thames in the City of London to the Dockside at Portsmouth Harbour. These Maori people celebrated a Hangi festival at Clandon Park, Guildford and were the subject of our first location shoot in June 2009. Award winner The Story of Guildford together with The Making of Surrey are now for sale on a single DVD. The Story of Guildford was updated for Guildford Museum in 2005 and includes sub-titles for the hard of hearing and also a German language version. The Making of Surrey is an informative and enjoyable animation about the geology and landscape of the county by Norman Lilley, Circle Eight's award-winning animator. The DVD, priced £10, can be bought at Guildford's Tourist Information Centre in Tunsgate, or Guildford Museum, Quarry Street.
