What do these four historical characters have in common?
They
will all be featuring in our latest movie spectacular that traces the
legends, tales and folklore along the route of the old coaching
road from London to Portsmouth.
Production commenced in
June 2009 with filming of the London Maori community's annual
Hangi celebrations at the
National Trust property, Clandon Park.
The next day's shooting of The Tales of the Portsmouth Road took place at Guildford Castle
on Sunday, November 15th 2009. The fully costumed sequence featured the brief overnight
stay at the Kings Arms Hotel in Godalming of Czar Peter the Great in1698.
Czar Peter and his ever-hungry entourage consumed gargantuan amounts of food and drink
and literally ate the landlord of the inn out of
house and home!
