Tunnel Under Hindhead tells the story of Hindhead over the years and the construction of the Hindhead Tunnel. The history of Hindhead, as a main route to the south coast from London, describes how Hindhead Common was viewed as a very dangerous area to cross by coach in olden times.  The film then explores the many suggestions made as long ago as 1932 to by-pass the village and, with the use of archive film and specially shot interviews, traces the history of the tunnel project from its commencement in 2008 through to its official opening in July 2011.
